Crane, Carol
Author

Carol Crane, with thirty-three years experience in children's literature as an educational consultant, has become widely recognized by many schools and educators for her expertise in children's literature. She has conducted in-service seminars for teachers at many schools across the country. At a recent reading conference at the University of Alabama, she was described as "A walking, talking bibliography of children's books".

With respect to furthering the education process through reading, Mrs. Crane is actively involved with the International Reading Association, Florida Reading Association, Michigan Reading Association, The Whole Language Umbrella and NCTE. Her thematic approach to learning has been widely accepted and successfully used by many reading teachers. Five years ago, Carol instituted a summer reading program.

Teachers, media specialists and librarians have also attended her "Bed, Breakfast and Books" seminars across the country. This assembly of authors, pre-publication viewing of children's books, and sharing of ideas among fellow teachers has been a very important reading event. Mrs. Crane continues to write, and will publish F is for First State: A Delaware Alphabet, this coming fall.
