Because he cares for struggling readers and had the vision to step out and create a new type of book to help these students;

Because he was an entrepreneur who has led his company since 1982, always committed to an exceedingly high level of integrity and exemplifying the best qualities of our industry;

Because he led the EPA, now the EBMA, as its President, helping bring forth the Marilyn Abel Award;

Because he put people first in his work and has passed on his business legacy to his family who continue to run Saddleback Educational Publishing;
